Powder SnowIn the sunny mornings after a fresh dry snowfall, the snow will sparkle like diamond dust. Tiny little flashes, all the subtle colors of the rainbow catching the corner of your eye. Together they reflect all the light. Together they are the purest of whiteThe winds will blow across the flat and open areas, rippling the powder like miniature waves in a frozen sea. The drifts will pile up against fence posts and spread away from the protection of the apple trees. A confused squirrel bouncing along the limbs shakes the too thick powder from the long pine needles, it explodes into the air with an alpine burst of glitter. |
